DIY Six Dollar or so Family Dollar Chalkboard

Regretfully, I've been kinda neglectful in Storybookland lately.
I have some new and exciting ideas running around in my head, and action steps in those general, becoming more specific, business plans. But I have not forgotten my dear storybook-cottagian friends, and so here I am to share this recent, simple, inexpensive project idea with you.  It took 15-20 minutes to complete.

This would be a great project for you and your kiddos, grand-kids, or nieces/nephews, if you have any of those around.

Sara and I were strolling through the Family Dollar when we saw this...
I believe it was a whole six dollars or so.
This gave me an idea.

I had bought this chalkboard paint awhile back, but hadn't yet used it for any projects.
What if I paint over this nice, cliche-like saying with the chalkboard paint, and then our family can put up whatever we want on it with my newly beloved chalkboard markers?!

For six dollars or so, why not?

Three coats of paint, quick, easy, not messy...
Here it is drying.  If you try this, don't become afraid that the streaks will show.  It only does that as it dries, since it dries very quickly.

And here it is an hour after beginning. I've been in Theodore Roosevelt's fan club lately.

And here's the quote Husband Dion put up this week. Well, his question. Husband Dion likes to quote himself. He's fun like that.
I'm out of town for a few weeks, so I'm curious as to what it will say, and how many things it will have said, by the time I'm home.

How are you making your today world beautiful?
